MUST LISTEN 116

Every week, we’ll be bringing you Must Listen: a series that's a compilation of rising artists along with songs that must be added to your everyday playlist. This week’s playlist consists of emerging acts like Blu DeTiger, Zoey Lily, and boy pablo.

Blu DeTiger

Bass prodigy and burgeoning pop icon Blu DeTiger and acclaimed singer-songwriter Biig Piig team up on the sizzling new single “Crash Course.”Trading off on vocals, they exude cool confidence as they defy pursuit, taunting, “catch me if you can.” The track is fueled by a driving beat, exhilarating electronic effects, and a mesmerizing bass line from Blu.

Anglo-French songstress Zoey Lily returns with her latest release, an alt-pop offering detailing the hardships of unrequited feelings on her vulnerable track “Friend.” This track represents the truth. Holding her honesty within a melancholic tempo and rich chords, Zoey’s delicate vocals add a second layer to the emotive undertones of this track and carry through its tender message.

NY-based artist ella jane returns with her new single “Party Trick.” This track comes from a place of uninhibited honesty. This is the first song that she wrote overly about a girl, choosing to fully dive into her truest version of self.

Nico Muños aka Boy Pablo returns with his dreamy new track “Be Mine.” The track is a unique take on a (not so) machismo cumbia love song laced with an easy-going dub rhythm guitar.

Brazilian producer and vocalist LYZZA returns with her aggressive new track “Deserve It” featuring Spanish trap singer La Zoqi. Paired with a striking music video directed by Thyago Sainte where we see LYZZA exploring different power dynamics.

19-year-old singer/songwriter, Josh Fudge, releases his latest single “98 NISSAN” via AWAL. The track fashions a kaleidoscopic take on pop and paintings from a broad palette of nostalgia-provoking pop while envisioning a world of his in the process. This track is squishy and sweet-sounding, juxtaposed with lyrics about missing someone and the small interactions you had with them.

NYC-based artist Gen Bello releases her latest track “Summer in Harlem.” Revolving around a Spanish guitar riff and breathy vocals this track is extremely smooth, catchy, and familiar. This slick sultry tune has a significant 2000s R&B influence reminiscent of Destiny’s Child. With a string of impressive releases under her belt, we’re on the edge of our seats wanting more.

R&B vocalist Raiche returns with her new single “Fool.” The track is an honest and heartfelt breakup song that manifests the reality that someone the only person you can count on is yourself. An empowering ode to anyone who loves themselves enough to release anything or anyone that no longer serves them.
