MUST LISTEN 139
Every week, we’ll be bringing you Must Listen: a series that's a compilation of rising artists along with songs that must be added to your everyday playlist. This week’s playlist consists of emerging acts like Orrin, PARTYOF2, ADÉLA, and many more.
Orrin
Brooklyn-based artist Orrin recently dropped his latest album, Lost In Translation. The Jersey club–infused track “Hakuna Matata” has us hooked. Drawing inspiration from the flashy energy of the early 2000s, Orrin fuses hip-hop, R&B, and Jersey club into a signature style he calls “Hip House,” evoking the feeling of a vibrant, full-tilt party in motion.
Tei Shi
Tei Shi’s fourth album, Make believe I make believe, is her most liberated work yet—vulnerable, self-assured, and unbound by genre. Seamlessly blending English and Spanish, she moves between dream-pop, dembow, acoustic folk, shoegaze, left-field electronics, and tropical rhythms, all filtered through her unmistakable lens. Standout track “Montón” is an enchanting ode to the sweetness of lust and surrendering to love.
PARTYOF2
Formerly known as grouptherapy., PARTYOF2 emerge hungrier, bolder, and sharper than ever. Their new single, “Just Dance 2,” is a celebration of Black liberation, rooted in the rich history of ’80s dance culture, a genre whose Black contributions have often been overlooked, the track feels both a reverent nod to the past and a fearless step forward.
ADÉLA
ADÉLA releases her debut EP, The Provocateur. The Provocateur draws on ADÉLA’s lived experience and lifelong dream of being a popstar. Each track on the project tells the dramatized story of a young woman willing to do what it takes to achieve her dreams, as ADÉLA recounts several experiences, ranging from betrayal, defiance, and exploitation, while making it all feel larger than life.
Rodney Chrome
Singer, dancer, producer, and all-around artist Rodney Chrome shares his new single "BBL" alongside the announcement of his forthcoming project GO. "BBL" is an assertion of Rodney's organic talent as a singer, dancer, and producer straddling the worlds of pop drama and hyperpop maximalism, hip-hop flow, and the ever-widening ethos of electronic music.
TAKE VAN
Electro-pop artist Take Van delivers a flirty new single, “DAYLIGHT BLUSH.” The DNB princess stretches her voice across a glossy house framework, trading frenetic basslines for a softer, more radiant pulse. It’s a playful mix of late-night club energy and whispered intimacy, delivering a bop that feels both personal and built for the floor.
osquinn & feardorian
Two of the underground’s most forward-thinking artists finally link after years of one-off collabs and teasers. Atlanta’s FearDorian and Baltimore’s osquinn have dropped their new single, “L Train Vintage.” Recorded late one night in osquinn’s apartment, the track captures their undeniable chemistry, pairing Dorian’s sharp, brooding one-liners with osquinn’s smooth, melodic bars.
Danny Singh
Rising Queens native and genre-blurring artist Danny Singh switches it up once again with “Trickin,” a feel-good, dance-ready track driven by his signature bouncy R&B flair. The track shimmers with a playful and flirtatious energy that lingers long after the beat drops.
